Summer Slam Pre-Wrap-Up Wrap-Up

Between the K-ROCK girl Gala and the search for the Ultimate K-ROCK Anthem my heart won’t stop racing… maybe I should probably stop drinking these ****ing energy drinks, but they are so delicious.

The belt has changed over 8 times since Rage knocked off the powerhouse we call… Metallica.

Nirvana is the current holder of the belt with Smells like teen Spirit and seems like they came in the right place at the right time. They took away the belt from Pink FloydAnother Brick in the Wall (thank god, rock me sexy Jesus), and successfully defended the title against Van HalenRunning with the Devil… If Dave did it acappella I think he might have had it on wrap.

In total there are 3 Songs left that could possibly win:

NirvanaSmells like Teen Spirit (Currently holding the belt)
QueenWe will rock you/We are the champions (2pm match)
AC/DCHighway to Hell (5pm and final match)

It’s a triple threat match, can Nirvana hold on to the belt and take down Queen and AC/DC… will Queen “ROCK” Nirvana and sing we are the champions as they beat AC/DC… or is AC/DC going to take the highway to hell as they steal the belt in the final match.

The likelihood of that being right… with my luck… Slim to none.

Let’s go Met’s!

All I know is that someone is going to win another TV… and it’s not me… *&@$

Congrates (yes I spelled it wrong on purpose) to the K-ROCK girls, the person that wins the TV, and whichever song/band is on top at the end of this tournament. You all worked extremely hard to get to this point in your life, and you deserve the recognition!!!

Check out the K-ROCK girls right here.

Word to your mom… Pound that *ish (explosion)… the 5 o’clock shadow was dope…

rage pins metallica, takes the belt!

Metallica – Enter Sandman vs. Rage Against the Machine – Killing in the Name

In a previous blog I referred to Metallica as a “machine”…

Who or what can stop a machine? I thought nothing… and I guess I put a curse on Metallica when I said I thought they’d be going all the way…

Who better to take down a machine… then a machine with tons of rage…

This by far was one of the most exciting matches. It was a pure blood bath, an epic battle. Tables, ladders, chairs… everything was used in this match but the kitchen sink.

Who walked away holding the belt?
With 52.7% of the votes … and New Champion of the Battle for the Ultimate K-ROCK Anthem…

Metallica – Enter Sandman defeats … (Who is the next victim?)

MATCH 3: Enter Sandman vs. Sweet Child O’ Mine

Contestant Number 4 come on down…

Big Matchup…

Guns N’ Roses just called Metallica a bunch of Nancy boys for cutting off their hair… It’s on!

Here is a matchup that you could only dream of happening and now its right in front of your face.

Guns N’ Roses – Sweet Child O’ Mine
This is tough. I mean, Slash is just a genius with the guitar riffs in this song. From start to finish I feel like I’m floating on Slashes notes. The only person that could have possibly made this song any better is the guy from Space Hog. I heard he passed when they asked him to co-write it… he said he had a better band to help write for or something like that.

As of now this has been the closest battle…
Guns N’ Roses looked like they had this on lockdown…

Metallica said screw your long hair and dreadlocks… We are Metallica… SUCK IT!!!

Metallica – Enter Sandman wins it’s 3rd round and defended the belt twice by winning 55% of the votes…

MATCH 2: Enter Sandman vs. Seven Nation Army

Would the next contender come on down? Let’s try to keep the smackings to a minimum…

Metallica’s – Enter Sandman gets to defend the belt for the first time against none other then the White Stripes – Seven Nation Army.

Here’s a little background info on this tag team duo:

The White Stripes Consist of Jack White and Meg White, a classic combo of quickness and cat-like reflexes. Jack has the potential to finish an opponent with his lightning quick combo’s, just ask the lead singer from the Von Bondies, who was supposedly tossed on the ground and punched in the right eye 7 times in under 2 seconds… Impressive. Meg is quiet but extremely sneaky. If you throw her an inch she’ll dodge it and scratch you in the face 5 times.

All that aside, Metallica’s Enter Sandman gave them one swift kick to the back of the head and it was done.

Metallica successfully defends the title… for now.

MATCH 1: Enter Sandman vs. Fight For Your Right

Before we start this, I would like to say Enter Sandman is going to win this whole thing… And no I’m not a front runner, I’m just sick of getting destroyed in the rankings. My March Bracket Brawl was ruined by taking Tom Petty to get all the way into the final four. That worked out really swell…

So let’s start this off…

Metallica – Enter Sandman vs. Beastie Boys – Fight for Your Right

When you are the first pick in anything that has 39 rounds, odds are you aren’t winning the whole thing, but its Metallica… HELLO!!! This is probably the strongest competitor in this here Summer Slam: Battle for the ultimate K-ROCK Anthem. Enter Sandman screams fist pumping. Just think of the last Metallica show you went to, during this song you probably got cracked in the back of the head from at least 3 different fist pumpers. My head still hurts.

So we move on to the 2nd spin. Beastie Boys – Fight For Your Right. This could be one of the top party anthems of the century. How many of you remember popping your License To Ill cassette into your car, sitting there fast forwarding to track 7, then blasting your radio all the way to 11… BAM… You knew it was gonna be a good night…

So let’s put these two bad boys head to head.
Party Anthem vs. Fist Pump Anthem

According to you, you prefer a punch to the back of the head over a party… Either that or your way of parting is really aggressive.

Anywhow… Metallica – Enter Sandman gave Beastie Boys – Fight For Your Right a fist pump right out the door.
