Robert Plant is Old, Annoying

It’s always interesting to see what kind of music legends listen to, but it is even more interesting to see what kind of music they don’t listen to. That’s probably why a recent article about Robert Plant in England’s The Sun newspaper is getting so much attention.

It seems the Led Zeppelin singer was at a London bar recently when he told the manager to stop playing Radiohead, describing their music as “rhyming crap.” The staff at the bar were happy to oblige the singer but when Red Hot Chili Peppers starting spinning, Plant was still unimpressed. (What, are they streaming K-Rock in London bars now?) An insider explained what happened, saying, “They put on the Red Hot Chili Peppers, who they thought might be more up his street. But he didn’t like their stuff either and said it was like a ‘nursery rhyme.’ He then said he wanted to listen to Captain Beefheart.” Captain Beefheart was popular around the same time as Led Zeppelin and is known for his surreal lyrics and harmonica skills.
